Meet the Nomic team - Piotr Galar, Software Engineer on Hardhat
In this last post of 2024, we're introducing you to Piotr Galar - a software engineer on Hardhat who is passionate about improving developer tooling, developer experience & productivity.
What is your name, and what do you do at Nomic?
Hi! I’m Piotr. I’m a software engineer on the Hardhat team by day and a CI tinkerer by night. I enjoy building developer tools and automating workflows very much.
Who are you outside of work? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love musical theatre! I especially like going to the live shows. I also love playing the trumpet. I wouldn't say it's at a West End worthy level - yet - but that doesn't stop me from enjoying an odd live performance.
What were you doing professionally before joining Nomic?
Developer tooling, of course! My career has been focused on developer experience and productivity for a good number of years now. Seeing my work empower others to thrive and experience joy in theirs is what I love most about my job.
What are the things that you enjoy and appreciate about working at Nomic?
The people I work with. I'm lucky to have a team of people who are passionate, kind and understanding. We show up to help each other and to help the community.
Which one of our core values resonates with you the most and why? How do you see it being “used” at Nomic?
Level Up! We help each other grow and develop every day. Be it through giving talks, sharing knowledge, or stimulating conversations. Opportunities to learn about the world or one another are countless.
What are you excited about when you think about your future at Nomic?
Hardhat v3 is coming! I cannot wait to see how you all use it and how we evolve it together.
What is your best tip for staying productive and happy when working remotely?
Be vocal and listen. Allowing oneself and others to express themselves and be heard is essential.
